Some of the most popular coffee shops&#8217; prices have been steadily increasing. Convenience stores are taking advantage of this and have started adding in their own h<\/span><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">igh quality <\/span><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\">espresso bars, <\/strong><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">upgrading their coffee services adding a wide variety of flavors and creamers.\u00a0<a style=\"background-color: transparent;\" href=\"https:\/\/business.gasbuddy.com\/blog-4-reasons-why-convenience-store-are-the-new-coffee-shops\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Research<\/a><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">\u00a0recently done by<\/span><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">\u00a0by Insider showed that surveyed consumers felt that 7- Eleven\u2019s iced coffee was\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\">better<\/strong><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">\u00a0than Starbucks.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Great coffee isn&#8217;t just an option for c-store chains anymore either.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 400px; margin: 0px auto; display: block;\" src=\"https:\/\/goebt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/EspressoBar.jpg\" alt=\"EspressoBar\" width=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Alternative fuel: <\/strong>Today<span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">, companies are prioritizing more eco-friendly options for nearly everything. Consumers have been demanding and companies are responding. Electric cars sales growth are increasing and more and more gas stations are offering <\/span><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\">electric charging stations<\/strong><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">. Some other alternative fuels are bio-diesel, ethanol, hydrogen, natural gas, and propane. Less and less people are carrying cash on them and are looking for different payment options. Payments such as Venmo, Paypal, Apple Pay, and Android Pay are growing more popular and convenience stores are offering additional payment options for their consumers to fit the demands.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mobile Payments:<\/strong> Companies like ExxonMobil introduced Speedpass+ that lets customers pay for their fuel with an app. Shell has an app as well where consumers can pay for their fuel and in-store purchases.<a href=\"https:\/\/csnews.com\/more-more-c-stores-banking-mobile-payments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Mobile payments<\/a> are expected to triple by 2021, going from $80.7 billion in 2015 to $282.9 billion in 2021<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mobile Wallet: <\/strong>Apple, Android, Samsung pay are a type of mobile wallet where consumers can pay using their phone. Mobile wallet has grown more popular and merchants are adjusting to keep up with the latest technology trend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a small c-store owner, the growth in technology can seem intimidating. You do not have to meet the demands of technology all at once, just over time. Try starting with one small modification at a time that your c-store would do well in.
